Minor in Business for BS-CIE Students
The Minor in Business is an excellent adjunct to the BS in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering. It will expand your technical knowledge of engineering and enhance your success in the business of engineering. For more details on how the Minor in Business and the BS-CIE requirements are jointly satisfied, please read further.
A student pursuing the BS-CIE may take as few as two courses beyond the 120 credits required for the major to earn the Business Minor; however, this requires planning. MSOM 300 and MSOM 303 are required for the minor, they will not contribute to the BS-CIE degree, and therefore will increase the total number of credits required to earn both the BS-CIE and Business Minor to 126. MSOM 301 may be counted as a CEIE technical elective. Taking CS 112 and CEIE 301, required as part of the BS-CIE degree, will substitute for MSOM 302. And MSOM 305 may be used to satisfy the General Education requirement for a course in Global Understanding.
