Dr.Sharon DeMonsabert,PE

Associate Professor, Environmental Engineering

Dr. deMonsabert received the B.S. from the University of Maryland in 1979, and the Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1982, both in Civil Engineering. She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Waterworks Association, the American Society for Engineering Education, the Water Environment Foundation, and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).  She is a faculty mentor for the student post of SAME.

Dr. deMonsabert is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of California. She is the owner of Applied Engineering Management Corporation and has been on the faculty of George Mason University (GMU) since 1993.  She currently serves as a representative to the faculty senate and athletic council.  She is also a Bachelor of Individualized Studies mentor. 

Dr. deMonsabert’s broad research interests include environmental systems analysis, engineering management, water quality modeling, technical entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.  She developed a certificate program for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers called Technical Entrepreneurship in the Federal Government.
